Leopard Print Pairings
I know leopard print may not be for everyone but I really think adding a bit of leopard print can be fun to try! When peicing together an outfit I always think of three things: texture, colour and flare. If you’re not sure how to pair something as bold as leopard, you can always try putting together a monochromatic look with a touch of the wild side! This is my go to technique when introducing a new pattern that may be out of my comfort zone.
Let me show you how easy this is.
Leopard Print Pairings
The key for me when pairing a bold, fun pattern like leopard is to pick one statement piece and keep everything else simple. I definitely don’t plan on buying a leopard print tracksuit anytime soon! Although that certainly would make a statement! Even this blog post would look a little overwhelming if I over posted the print. The key: everything in moderation.
For this fall look I paired a fun leopard print neck scarf with a completely monochromatic look.
1. Daylina Coat Now on Sale
Club Monaco just recently had a coat sale (still on now!) and I managed to snatch up this beautiful long wool trench (also comes in pink and navy). And to be honest, I haven’t worn any other coat since buying the grey version of the Daylina Coat. I am in love.
The length of the jacket makes it so easy to wear a dress. I am also looking forward to trying this sophisticated coat with an athleisure look paired with sneakers! Now, that would be New York hip! The first thing I noticed when I tried on this jacket in store was the pleats on the sides emphasizing my figure and the weight of the fabric. When it comes to quality, Club Monaco is usually a great place to start.
2. Maroon Slip Dress
For a punch of colour I added this long-sleeved, gem toned, maroon dress. I love the contrast between this seasonal favorite and the leopard. The dress ties in a rich flavor to what could have been a completely neutral look. I added some suggestions in the slider at the bottom of this post! Also, the best thing about maroon is it really goes with every skin tone and hair colour.
3. Lipstick with a Punch
The holiday’s are a great time to try rich colour options. A bold red lipstick, some extra sparkle and yes, the leopard print can all satisfy this pallet. With these looks I am pairing a red lip by Mary Kay called Red Smolder. I also suggest Kat Von D’s poison apple, NARS Audacious Lipstick in Poppy Red, or one of my all time favorite’s Blake’s Red from L’Oréal.
4. The Tall Black Boot
My absolute favorite pair of boots during the fall to winter months are my tall black boots. First off, they go with absolutely everything. Second, they add a slimming effect as well as length to your legs. And finally, they are pair well with jeans, leggings and dresses making them extremely flexible!
5. The Leopard Detail
Last but not least – the leopard details! My favorite way to add leopard is either in a neck scarf (as seen in this post), a loafer/bootie or a slim belt. I also just purchased a leopard blouse and have been playing around with layering the look. Personally I think this slim neck scarf classes up the look and truth be told cost me under $15 at Forever 21!

More Leopard Details
If you want to add a little more leopard to your look here are some of my other suggestions. Out of all of these pieces my favorite is the leopard loafer. I have seen a good handful of styles incorporating loafers like the ones in the slider below, they really add to a look. Also, working in a leopard belt can breakup an outfit in a really fun way. I would suggest wearing black jeans if you are going to go with the belt to create some flow to your look. Finally, you cannot go wrong with a fun clutch!
