Brunch is basically an excuse to roll out of bed a little later in the morning, throw on a comfortable, yet endearing outfit, and cheers your friends with a mimosa in hand. With that being said, I’m sure you’ve gotten the drift that I love brunch and getting dressed for the occasion.
I recently had the opportunity to work alongside London Times Fashion with some of their new summer arrivals. This new line is focused around the perfect dress to wear to brunch or any summer event. I fell in love with these two styles and began thinking about why they are such perfect dresses for a summer occasion. This is what I came up with!
Lightweight fabric that flows
If you’re like me you love to embrace the summer heat! I love being outside as much as possible in the summer. But when I’m at an event I want to nix the chance of sweating and being uncomfortable. First things first, choose a dress that has a lightweight fabric and is open to breathe. This is going to ensure you stay cool and confident all night!
A Fun Pattern or Colour that Inspires Conversation
Oh honey, you do not need to be a wallflower! In the winter if you are someone who has a closet of just grey and black, try stepping out of your comfort zone. Summer is the perfect time to play up fun patterns and punchy colours. My London Times dresses really helped me achieve both! I find that when I wear a bright colour or a fun pattern it somehow boosts my mood and inspires conversation.
Comfort is Key – Go for “A Line”
If you are a hardcore brunch goer, or you are attending an event that involves drinking and food, select an “A Line” cut. The fabric will naturally flatter any figure and flow away from your body. “A Line” dresses typically hug you at your slimmest point and create a flirty and fun look. Both dresses I selected from London Times are certainly “twirl worthy” and I love it!
Choosing a Length
I really believe when you are choosing an outfit for an event you should more often then not, go with what you are comfortable with. I love these short, flirty dresses from London Times but there are so many other great options if you prefer a longer cut. It’s the worst when you are out somewhere and you are feeling self conscious. Go with your comfort zone on length especially if you are stepping out of that zone when it comes to colour or pattern.
