Swatch Skin Irony & Sunflowers

Summer in the Fields

One the best parts of summer is enjoying local and seasonal produce and flowers. Come on, who doesn’t love a big sunflower field! The golden hues and buzzing bees are enough to make you want to run around like a kid again. Thankfully there is a huge sunflower field very close to my house. Take it from a country girl, never give up the opportunity to run through the fields! When my friend Francis was up for the challenge we hit the ground running (quite literally)!

This summer has been so eventful with collaborations and content creation. To be honest, I couldn’t be happier with what we have created. It’s been such a journey building this brand and deciding the direction I truly want to go. When the chance came up to work along side the watch brand Swatch, I was over the moon. Swatch is a brand I have loved for a very long time. Their timepieces are stunning and the new Skin Irony line has exceeded my expectations.

I have small wrists but I still like having a watch I can read. The reason I love this watch in particular, is the thin face and the reasonable price point. I would never want to show you, my reader, something I didn’t think was in our price range or of quality. The gold just sets the style on fire. If you’ve see any shots from inside my loft you know I love a gold touch.

The History of the Swatch Brand

At a blogging event I learned the Swatch brand was born in Zurich, Switzerland with the first collection being released March 1, 1983. Swiss made watches were always known for their high quality and status.

However, the mastermind behind the Swatch brand and the aggressive marketing was to let the people know about the new era of Swiss watches, an affordable era. Swatch watches were around 80 percent cheaper to produce because the assembly was automated versus handmade. Thus, began the Swatch obsession in the 1980’s.

Swatch watches are now a staple in many peoples wardrobe including my own! It has been such a pleasure to work alongside this beautiful brand. I cannot wait for you to see the #SkinIrony collection in person! But for now, here is a taste of my favorite watch from the bunch!
