I’m sure I’ve said this a hundred times by now but I truly feel like I have found my ideal style. Dressing the way you love means showing up in the world unapologetically yourself.
I’m sure I’ve said this a hundred times by now but I truly feel like I have found my ideal style. Building out my wardrobe has been so much more enjoyable now that I have a direction and visual identity. Dressing the way you love is like taking the power back. It’s choosing how you want to show up in the world and unapologetically being yourself. With spring and summer right on our doorstep we are in the months that make dressing easy. Especially when you have a feminine style full of dresses and flirty materials.
Though I am on a wardrobe kick I want to make sure I am being as mindful about my purchases as possible. With that being said welcome to my newest series my seasonal wardrobe wishlist. This is where I online window shop to my hearts content and chat about the pieces I am lusting over and the styles I am keeping in mind when perusing the shops. From luxury fashion to premium ponders to high street desires I hope you see something that suites your budget and fancy.
If something is on my wishlist it doesn’t mean it will be a 100% sure fire purchase. Wishlist items to me mean there is a sense of thoughtfulness. When it comes to my luxury lusts these are items that have been on my mind for the past few months to even a year. They are items I am either saving for or am planning to purchase when life presents the best opportunity to do so.
No necessary “needs” here but ever since I was a child I loved to window shop. Spoiler, being in my 30’s now I am no different. Let’s begin!
I believe (and I think a lot of my blogger colleges would agree) the best way to add luxury to your wardrobe is through accessories. These are pieces that have been top of mind over the past 6 months (or in some cases more). Obviously it’s easy to get sticker shock or a bit trigger shy when it comes to pressing purchase on these types of goods. My process is usually having a separate savings account and slowly growing my pot to make the purchase so nothing goes on credit. I also love to find a high street dupe so I can see if this is a piece I would wear worth making the luxury purchase.

Dresses have been top of mind for me this season. I think I’ve always known I love a dress but being in Canada the seasons are quite short for these types of things. I have been building my dress wardrobe over the past couple of years and am proud to say I don’t save things for best! I love wearing a beautiful dress even if I’m making the trip to a garden center or to the grocery shops. It makes me square my shoulders a little better and truly feel good about myself. After the years we’ve had it’s time to break out our best attire for the simple days just for us!
Engineered for spinning around in an open field. The Pompano is a midi length dress with a sweetheart neckline and loose fitting, puff sleeves. It has a center front cutout and a smocked back bodice for a little extra stretch. It gives you a pretty good balance of comfort and shape.
Romance alert. The Butterfly is off the shoulder with elastic ruffle sleeves. It features a fitted bodice and a relaxed skirt with a ruffle hem. This dress gives your shoulders some breathing room.
When in doubt, wear a damn dress. This is a midi length dress with a straight neckline, a fully smocked bodice and a side slit. The Inka is slim fitting throughout the bodice with an easy fitting skirt.
Fresh flowers from the Ref garden. The Carolena gives you a pretty good balance of comfort and shape. It has a fitted bodice with puff sleeves that have smocking at the sleeve opening. The skirt is relaxed with a high slit to let your legs breathe.
Our Gardenia dress is a beautifully crafted high neck dress. It’s perfect to step into spring/summer. Made from our signature pretty floral print. This flattering dress creates a skin baring open back with a beautifully frill high neck and sleeves. It also comes with an adjustable tie around the waist that can draw in the area. Gardenia is fitted dress that falls away to a slightly fluted hem. It is fully lined for comfort with a side zip and bow tie fastening to the back for easy on. Wear yours with dainty mules or even some heels.

Dresses do not need to be breaking the bank to be of good quality. I have been seeing quite the comeback for Abercrombie & Fitch and H&M as I’m sure you have as well! Here are some of my favorites from this newest season! Keep in mind the higher price tag does tend to mean a difference in sustainable practices and material. Always something great to keep in mind when adding to basket!

After doing a full on closet edit I’ve realized the best way to help my wardrobe go the extra mile is to add in some more texture on top. This means looking at cut, frill, pattern and embroidery when it comes to blouses. I love a classic strip and a flirty print and if you say white broderie anglaise well then I am just immediately sold. Here are some pieces I have been eyeing for the spring, summer season.
This is a boat-neck sweater. It’s knit using slick, all-season yarn made with LENZING™ ECOVERO™ Viscose — biodegradable fibres sourced mainly from natural beech wood and produced through an environmentally low-impact process. This version features a yarn-dyed stripe pattern.
