Now that I am in my thirties I have a desire to only purchase classic, timeless pieces. Selecting classic pieces is especially paramount when we are looking at more premium to luxury purchases. I am absolutely smitten over today’s Daily Look. I first spotted this Italian virgin wool sleeveless military coat on Lydia Millen during one of her infamous vlogmas videos. Time went by and I simply couldn’t forget the gorgeous cut, colour and structure of the jacket so I said, “what the heck, let’s see if it’s still available!”
I dashed to the Karen Millen site and low and behold there it was – one left in my size (or so I thought). I immediately added to basket and cashed out. *Bing* Email notification – your order is on the way in a US size 8. WHAT?! Wait I thought I ordered this in a UK size 8! Duped by the site change I didn’t realize I had ordered this dream piece 2 sizes too big.
I checked to see if there was anything I could do but sadly the fulfillment center was not set up to cancel orders. Oh well – I guess we’ll just have to see…
Once my order arrived I was nervous but optimistic that because this is an outerwear piece I would be able to make it work. After trying it on I will admit it’s still a little too big but manageable. I plan on getting this piece altered because I am just too in love with the line and style of it. With all of this being said I am not regretful about my purchase despite my mistake. There are so many things to love about military style jackets so let me name just a few.

One of my favourite discoveries and purchases in winter 2021 was this H&M knit sweater. This sweater looks so lux in real life and washes flawlessly.

My thoughts
I have been thinking about the Medium Woody tote bag in cotton canvas & shiny calfskin with Woody ribbon for over a year. This bag was everywhere summer 2021 and I truly think it’s a classic addition to any wardrobe for years to come. I chose to go for the medium size for it’s structure and the amount I can fit inside.
